Summer Academy on Intercultural Experience in Karlsruhe / Germany

From July 30th - August 10th 2012 the third "Summer Academy on Intercultural Experience" will take place in Karlsruhe, Germany.


It will be cooperatively organized by Karlshochschule – International University, InterCultur gGmbH and AFS Interkulturelle Begegnungen e.V. It approaches relevant topics in the field of intercultural management and communication and is intended to foster the intercultural perspective within the field of management theory as well as to develop applied solutions for the problems in business and society. Through the Summer Academy on Intercultural Experience we hope to continue the dialogue between researchers and practitioners of different backgrounds.


We are pleased that in 2012 with the support of Stiftung Mercator and Haniel Stiftung, we will be able to award about 50 scholarships to qualified applicants.


The Summer Academy which will be held in English is open to anyone aged 18-35 with a demonstrable interest in the field of intercultural communications and management. Primary target groups are undergraduate students and young professionals with a background or interest in intercultural experiences.


Participants do not only benefit from the experience of the academic team, but also from the diversity of the participating group: 2011 students came from 28 countries and from 5 continents.

Asia-Europe X-Cultural Summer Academy in Bangi/Malaysia

From August 27- September 7, 2012 the first Asia-Europe Cross-Cultural Summer Academy in Malaysia will take place. The Academy on Intercultural Experience is a two weeks course on Intercultural Learning and will be the first intercultural learning academy in Malaysia. This academy will focus on intercultural topics which mainly emphasize on Intercultural Communication and Culture and Society with the intention of fostering the intercultural understanding between European and Asian students.


The Summer Academy which will be held in English is open to anyone aged 18-35 with a demonstrable interest in the field of intercultural communications and management. Primary target groups are undergraduate students and young professionals with a background or interest in intercultural experiences.


We are pleased that in 2012 with the support of Stiftung Mercator and Zeit-Stiftung, we will be able to award about 25 scholarships to qualified applicants.


This academy will be organized by five partners from Asia and Europe. AFS Malaysia and AFS Germany are the co-organizers with InterCultur gGmbH, University Kebangsaan Malaysia ( UKM ) and Karlshochschule International University being our project partners.
