Courses and Study Plans

In the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA) all classes are taught in Portuguese. Please note that our study plans are now adequate to the Bologna Process, so we have:

  • a first cycle of 3 years (180 ECTS), corresponding to the Bachelor degree;
  • a second cycle of 2 years (120 ECTS), corresponding to the Master degree;
  • a third cycle of 3 years (180 ECTS), corresponding to Doctoral Programmes.


You can choose different courses from the 1st and 2nd cycle and from different years.
If you come to attend classes in the 1st/Winter Semester (between September and February) you can only choose courses from the Semester's: 1, 3 and 5 (1st cycle) and 1 and 3 (2nd cycle).
If you come to attend classes in the 2nd/Summer Semester (between February and July) you can only choose courses from the Semester's: 2, 4, 6 (1st cycle) and 2 and 4 (2nd cycle).

Please note that in a given semester/year optional courses that do not meet minimum enrollment requirements may be canceled.
