WATERUSE
Evaluation of alternative techniques  for determination of water budget components in water-limited, heterogeneous  land-use systems

WATERUSE is a research project that aims to develop and provide tools for the evaluation of water fluxes and its governing processes in the drier regions of Europe, in order to develop guidelines for the sustainable use of water resources.
It´s supported by the European Commission under the Fifth Framework Programme and contributing to the implementation  of the Key Action "Sustainable Management and Quality of Water" http://www.cordis.lu/eesd/ka1/home.html within the Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development Programme http://www.cordis.lu/fp5/home.html    http://europa.eu.int/comm/research/eesd.html

ISA coordinates the project. IDRHa , COTR and GeoHiRes ensure the link with the Decision makers and Manager organisms (for water in agriculture), the farmers and the Industry. Their experience as well as their links to the real world, are fundamental in contributing to the refinement of methodologies and to disseminate the information to the users.
The others belong to Universities coming from: Agricultural Engineering, Agrometeorology, Biology, Remote Sensing, Forestry, Ecology, Geophysics, Soil Science, Plant Production, Environment. These are complementary and distinct fields. The facilities of equipment from the different partners provides significant added value to the project.
